Paris is generally a safe city at night but tourists must be careful when:

  • traveling alone
  • it’s after 2 a.m.
  • not in the city center
  • near a train station

Try to avoid any visible signs of luxury; keep your important belongings (passport, visa, money,…) in a safe and secret place.

Restaurants are closing early. Most of them will accept your order until 11pm.

Bars are open until 2am, clubs 5am.

You can use public transport from 6am to midnight (2am in the weekend).

These areas are famous for amazing night-life any time any day:

Bastille – Oberkampf – Republique – Le Marais – St Michel – Chatelet – Grands Boulevards – Pigalle

These ones are nice during the evening:

Belleville – Odeon/St Germain – Montmartre – Buttes Chaumont – Champs-Elysees – Butte aux Cailles – Saint-Martin, Ourcq & La Villette.
